Integral transform for symmetry recognition of gray-level images

A transform for symmetry recognition in 2D gray-level images is considered. The transform is invariant under rotations and translations, but is not scale-invariant. The rigorous mathematical description of its properties is provided and a series of tests for symmetry recognition is produced. Some details of the discrete case realization are given and illustrated with experiment results.
