Digital systems automated reengineering based on HDL specifications

In this paper we propose a method of digital devices reengineering based on automated transformations of HDL specifications. We provide an hierarchical device model and a language for transformation specification. An architecture of extendable automation tool was developed and implemented in a prototype. We describe the prototype structure and functionality and show a way of tool integration into existing design flow.
