To the history of Yuri Gagarin’s spacefaring

History of creation, development and research areas of the department of Information and Control Systems is briefly reviewed. In particular, the paper discovers little-known facts about participation of department's researchers in the biggest projects of 20th century, including soviet man-rated space programs.
