        <p>The study concerns physical and technical aspects of location probing of high power electric lines. The criteria of localization and conditions for detection of ice precipitates are determined. The influence of ice precipitates on delay and damping of reflected impulses is experimentally estimated. The authors discuss the sensitivity of "Reis" reflectometers for the early detection of ice precipitates on the electric power lines and propose a method and facilities for detection of ice precipitates.</p>
