        <p>Variants of definition of throughput of computer networks served by TCP are investigated. It is shown, that in existing systems of transfer of the package traffic because of the fractal properties of processes, the throughput goes down eventually. Operating modes of computer networks with the improved values of throughput are offered.</p>
